Cartier is a French luxury brand, mainly engaged in the manufacture of watches and jewelry, with products covering jewelry, watches, leather goods, perfume, etc. In 1847, Louis Francois Cartier founded the Cartier brand at 31 Rue Montargie in Paris. In 1874, his son Jaffa Cartier inherited the management rights, and his grandchildren Louis Cartier, Pierre Cartier, and Jacques Cartier developed it into a world-renowned brand. He once designed the world’s first wrist worn wristwatch for pilot Alberto Santos Dumont – the Cartier Santos watch. In 1994, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art relocated to 261 Rue La Chapelle in Paris. In July 2021, Cartier became the new official partner of the Venice Film Festival.
